The testing machine mainly consists of three parts: the body, the hydraulic control box, and the force measuring instrument.
1. Body Section
The body of the testing machine is connected by four columns linking the cylinder and the upper beam.
An adjustment screw is mounted on the upper beam of the testing machine. The large handwheel and nut screw allow adjustment of the no-load height. The lower end of the screw is equipped with a ball seat and the upper pressure plate. The lower pressure plate is placed on the piston of the oil cylinder. When the specimen contacts the upper pressure plate, the ball seat self-adjusts for balance, keeping the specimen level with the upper and lower pressure plates. The lower pressure plate has engraved positioning lines; during testing, the specimen must align with these lines. A dust cover is installed below the lower pressure plate to prevent or reduce dust from entering the cylinder during piston movement, which could damage the cylinder or oil seal. A sealing device between the piston and cylinder prevents oil leakage. However, if minor oil leakage occurs during use, an annular oil groove at the top of the cylinder and an oil discharge channel allow the oil to return to the main tank.
2. Hydraulic Section
The hydraulic box of this testing machine mainly consists of an oil tank, oil pump, oil filter, motor, speed valve, and return oil valve. The oil pump is a direct-drive axial five-piston pump. During loading, the loading speed should be manually controlled via the speed valve to regulate the piston's ascent (the speed valve and safety valve are integrated). For unloading, turning the return oil valve allows the cylinder to descend slowly. The safety valve is preset to an appropriate position before leaving the factory; under normal use, users should not adjust the safety valve.
